House of Mystery Halloween Annual #1 Volume 2

House of Mystery Vol. 2 Halloween Annual #1
First appearance of iZombie
Published: October 14, 2009
Publisher: DC/Vertigo
Artist: Various
Writer: Various

KEY ISSUES LOCATED

eBay - A few unslabbed copies found here. As news spreads, I'm sure more listings will pop up for this hot comic!

WHY THIS ISSUE?

It appears that the characters of iZombie do make appearances in a preview/short story within House of Mystery volume 2 Halloween Annual #1. This issue predates iZombie #1, which came out in July 2010. Even though CGC notes iZombie #1 as the first appearance of Gwen Dylan, her first appearance is now starting to be recognized as being in the House of Mystery Halloween Annual #1.

The iZombie characters also have a short story preview in House of Mystery Halloween Annual #2 volume 2 as well.

With the t.v. series picked up by CW and planning to make it's debut in 2015, this comic and the first issue of iZombie are greatly heating up and quick. House of Mystery Halloween Annual #1 volume 2 has a print run of about 11,000 while iZombie #1 is around 33,000.

Both comics are hot! House of Mystery Halloween Annual #2 V2 is quickly starting to rise in value. It's catching fire on eBay already.

This will be a comic to get in on as soon as possible and keep an eye out for. Check eBay and start asking for it at your local comic shop as well. No CGC copies on eBay as of yet, as expected, but there are a few unslabbed copies to consider.

I'll surely be looking for this key issue raw as a short term comic investment and most likely trying to hunt for it at my local stomping grounds. For now, short-term because the value staying constant or increasing depends on the success of the show. It does actually sound really interesting, about a girl who turns into a sort of zombie that has to eat brains in order to keep from going full zombie, as well as keeping her memories in tact. As a side effect, she also gains the memories of others from the brains she eats and ends up solving murders.

Oh yes, she is also aided by her best friend, a 1960s ghost named Ellie, and a were-terrier. New images have recently been released of Rose Mclver starring as the main protagonist Gwen Dylan.

iZombie was created by Chris Roberson and Dave Allred.

Good luck on your hunt for this key issue comic, and thanks to Tiger Shark for bringing this to my attention.

Undervalued Comics and Sleeper Key Comic Issues List

Okay, if we're talking undervalued key issues, that incorporates comics at certain grades as well, despite if the comic key issue itself is already known. If we're talking about sleepers, that means comics that are keys that aren't well-known and not that sought after. That means bottom of the barrel comics...at least for now. Remember, what's considered bad yesterday just may be good today.

This Undervalued Comics and Sleeper Key Issues list will be a collection of both, just to be clear on that front.  I have to apologize it may seem redundant. I will most likely be repeating myself quite often on this list. I will try to mix it up as much as possible.

Rom Spaceknight #1, December, 1979

Rom Spaceknight #1 image pic
  • First appearance of Rom
  • First appearance of Spaceknights
  • First appearance of Dire Wraiths
The Rom comic series was actually the first comics I ever read. No joke. Little did I know that it was a Parker Brothers toy before it was a comic book, first named COBOL after the program language. It was later changed to ROM, which stands for read-only-memory.

When Rom was finally licensed to Marvel Comics, an origin, universe, supporting characters and villains were created. This is a serious sleeper bronze age key issue. Not that popular in comic world, even though Rom was set in the MU.

The comics are actually extremely under-rated, the stories are pretty damn good, and I always thought this character would be an awesome one to translate to the big screen.

This comic for CGC 9.6s are still dropping below the $100 mark for auctions. CGC 9.8s are below the $300 mark. Average sale is around $250 for 9.8s. High grade unslabbed copies are extremely affordable for the first issue and first appearance of Rom Spaceknight.

eBay - Quite a few 9.8s and CGC options. Also, quite a few high grade raw copies to choose from as well.

2001: A Space Odyssey #8, July 1977

2001: A Space Odyssey #8 image
  • First appearance of Machine Man (Aaron Stack)
X-51 or Machine Man makes his first appearance in this issue. Though created by the legendary Jack Kirby, Machine Man isn't really a mainstream comic character.

This issue is not that well-known and could be considered a sleeper for unslabbed, raw copies. Not an easy find as well. CGC graded copies in the higher realm are dropping for quite a bit of money, but this is still a bottom of the barrel key bronze age issue. Demand isn't that high for this book, but it's starting to simmer up.

eBay - Unslabbed options only at the time of this writing. There have been a few CGC copies that have come and gone. Most CGC copies are still under a hundred bucks. 9.8s aren't that easy to hunt down at the moment.

The Flash #1 Volume 2, June 1987

Flash #1 Volume 2 comic cover
  • First Flash series staring Wally West as Flash
Hello again! This comic was on my Flash key issues list, and although it's widely known as the Flash comic series where Wally West takes over - Barry Allen supposedly died. This is the first issue to Flash volume 2, and a so far under-valued #1 copper age key.

This sucker is still going for under a $100 bucks at CGC 9.8s, but high grade raw copies are dropping for much less. In a time where Copper Age keys are being mined vigorously, this Flash key has been overlooked for now.

That could change if they do decide to use Wally West in the Justice League movie instead of Barry Allen.

eBay - No CGCs at the time of this writing, and only a handful of unslabbed, raw copies. Some of them are in comic lots. May be one to look out for at your local comic shop or at a comic con.

ComicConnect - Flash #1 CGC 9.8 here for only $65 bucks if you're looking for high grade CGC under the $100 mark. You will have to scroll down to find it.

The Infinity Gauntlet #1, July 1991

Infinity Gauntlet #1 comic
  • First issue to limited series
This is one of the best cross over series of the time. It's not that widely known, but many are speculating that the Avengers movie franchise could be leading up to a film that heavily borrows from the Infinity Gauntlet story line.

Written by Jim Starlin the creator of Thanos, the character is heavily used in this limited series and is the main villain. This copper age key issue is surprisingly still under the radar and is dropping for under $100 bucks at CGC 9.8s.

eBay - No problem finding this beast unslabbed or slabbed here. Saw a few CGC 9.8s newly listed and starting out at .99 cents. May get a high grade one for uber cheap.

Captain America #186, June 1975

Captain America #186 image cover
  • True origin of The Falcon
Taken from the Captain America key issues list Part 8, this is a sleeper issue and greatly over-looked as well. In this issue, The Falcon gets retconned by writer Steve Englehart. In the earlier comics, Sam Wilson's origin was that of a social worker who sought to better the lives of inner city youths. In this new retcon, Sam Wilson's true past was that of a mob-connected thug and pimp. It was revealed in this issue that the Red Skull used the Cosmic Cube to alter the memories of Sam Wilson, and he was indeed a criminal before becoming The Falcon.
Sadly, this is known in the industry as the true origin of the Falcon. This is still a bronze age key issue to get concerning The Falcon, and it is a sleeper!

eBay - No CGC for this sleeper key issue, and only a handful of unslabbed copies. Most are in comic lots. Also another comic to see if your local shop has it in the back issue bin.

Terminator: The Burning Earth #1, March 1990
Terminator The Burning Earth #1 comic cover
  • First published comic art by Alex Ross
Published by Now Comics, this is the first published comic book artwork by Alex Ross, whose pretty amazing artwork, paintings, have graced many comic book covers since then. He has gone on to do covers for both Marvel and DC Comics, but his main work has been mostly appreciated by DC Comics and DC fans.

A pretty well-known comic and for it's key issue status, but highly over-looked and under-valued. CGC 9.8s can be snagged for under $100. Still a Copper Age book.

eBay - Not many CGC options. Only 3 and two are Signature Series. One SS is a 9.6 and the other a 9.2. Both are signed by Alex Ross. 9.6 is at $130. Loads of raw copies, and most are probably in high grade as well.

mycomicshop - More unslabbed copies. Highest is a VF.

Marvel Premiere Key Issues

It's been a while since I've done a comic series key issues list, and I thought I'd drop a list of some Marvel Premiere key issues to be on the hunt for. A few important Marvel first appearances within this title, but this key comics list will be relatively short. It looks like there will only be 2 parts to this series!

Marvel Premiere #1 Adam Warlock cover
Marvel Premiere #1
  • Origin of Adam Warlock
  • First appearance as Warlock
Wow, I've talked about and mentioned this beast a few times already. Right now the official key issue status of this comic is the origin of Adam Warlock.

However, there's an argument in the comic community about how this comic should be the first appearance of Adam Warlock. I'm not with that party, but I do believe this should be the first appearance as Adam Warlock. This is no longer an easy find in higher CGC near mint grades.

mycomicshop - Two graded copies at the time of this writing. One is a CGC 8.5 and the other is a PGX 7.0. Lower grade raw copies available as well.

eBay - Not that easy finding high grade CGC copies for this issue any longer. There is one CGC 9.4 I spotted, and only a few unslabbed copies. They're even getting harder to find on eBay as well.

Marvel Premiere 2 Adam Warlock
Marvel Premiere #2
  • 2nd issue
  • First appearance as Adam Warlock

2nd issue to Marvel Premiere and features the first appearance of the character as Adam Warlock. Not as HIM or just Warlock, but Adam Warlock.

If you've followed my blog for a while, you'd know that the character was revamped from the character of HIM. This issue isn't really widely known as of yet, and quite a few fans are pushing for this to be the first appearance as Adam Warlock in comics. Technically it's right, but Adam Warlock's character is still a reincarnation of HIM, which I believe crumbles some fans' argument that Marvel Premiere #1 should be the first appearance of Adam Warlock.

The industry has yet to officially recognize either plea, but it looks like the "first as Adam Warlock" key issue status for Marvel Premiere #2 is heading that way in the future, making this key issue more than just a 2nd issue. CGC only puts "Warlock"  on the notes and on some of them nothing. Overstreet also does not note this issue of any importance as well.

mycomicshop - One CGC 9.8 and two raw copies. Highest raw copy is a VF+.

NewKadia - One unslabbed near mint copy and one very good minus copy. If you're a first time buyer you can use the coupon code new4 and get 18% off this bad boy. The more you buy the higher the discount, so make it count for your first time buying at NewKadia.

eBay - One CGC 9.8 and two CGC 9.6s. A handful of raw copies to try your luck at higher grades as well.

Marvel Premiere 3 comic book cover
Marvel Premiere #3
  • First Doctor Strange in titled series

After Doctor Strange's first title was cancelled, he made some sporadic appearances in various comics. This is one of them, and it predates his second self-titled comic series.

Not an extremely important key issue, but this information may be useful for Doctor Strange fans who are determined to track down all appearances of the character. That reminds me that I have to add this to the Doctor Strange key issues list I just recently did.

mycomicshop - One CGC graded copy at a 9.6. Already pretty pricey. Two FN/VF 7.0 raw copies and some lower grade copies available.

eBay Quite a few CGC copies. Highest is a CGC 9.6 and there's quite a few. Some unslabbed copies as well. Worth taking a look, but this comic isn't cheap for some odd reason.

NewKadia - Two copies. One is a FN- and the other a VG-.

Marvel Premiere 10 pic
Marvel Premiere #10
  • Death of the Ancient One
Doctor Strange's mentor is finally killed off in this issue, making it a somewhat important key comic within the Doctor Strange mythos. I'm quite sure the Ancient One will have his first big screen debut in the Doctor Strange movie, but not too sure if they will kill off the character immediately in the movies.

Even if they do, I'm not quite sure that will even impact the demand of this key issue comic. Nonetheless, it is a key and makes this list.

mycomicshop - One low grade raw copy for sale here.

eBay - Only one CGC copy at a 9.8 that I located at the time of this writing. Some unslabbed options as well.

NewKadia - Four unslabbed copies here. Highest is a VF- or low very fine. Second highest is a FN.

Marvel Premiere 14 comic image
Marvel Premiere #14
  • Last Doctor Strange in titled series
As the status says, this is the last Doctor Strange appearance in this tmitle. Shortly after, Doctor Strange goes onto his 2nd self-titled series. Not really much else to say about this minor key issue.

mycomicshop - No CGC copies as of yet. Raw copies available. Highest is solid FN.

NewKadia - Quite a few copies here. Highest is a VF+ and under $20. You'll need to scroll a bit after clicking the blue NewKadia link that will bring you to the comic page where this issue is listed.

eBay - Two CGC copies. One is a 9.6 and the other a 9.4. A few unslabbed options to take a gander at if CGC isn't your thing.

Marvel Premiere 15 comic cover
Marvel Premiere #15
  • 1st appearance of Iron Fist
Back to Iron Fist. I've already mentioned the first appearance of Iron Fist a few times already. This month of May marks the character's career of 40 years in comic books. As you already know, a television show featuring the character is in the works and this has been one of the key comic book issues to snag for a few months now.

mycomicshop - Three CGC copies. One is a Signature Series 9.6 copy signed by Stan Lee. A bit pricey. Another Signature Series 9.0 copy located here and signed by Stan Lee as well. Only Universal copy is a CGC 9.2.

eBay - Another comic that's becoming increasingly harder to find at CGC Universal 9.8s and 9.6s. There is a 9.4 on eBay as of this writing.

Quite a few Marvel Premiere key comics, but there's more to come. Part 2 of this Marvel Premiere key issues list is ready so just click the PART 1 link below. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed. Share and comment if you feel social.

Doctor Strange Key Issues Part 4

Here's the last part to this Doctor Strange key issues list. Sorry, not that many Doctor Strange key comics, but here are the last few that may be worth putting on your want list. If you missed the beginning of this series, just click this blue Part 1 link to go to the start.

Dr. Strange #1 Volume 2
  • First issue to 2nd series
  • First appearance Agamotto's Dimension
  • First appearance of Agamotto
Finally, we get to see who this Agamotto is all about, and it's this issue that holds the first appearance of Agamotto and the dimension he resides. A really strange story, and not a very well-known or sought after key issue.

mycomicshop - PGX 8.0 VF copy available here. No CGC or unslabbed copies as of yet.

eBay - Quite a few unslabbed options. Pretty limited on CGC or graded copies.

ComicConnect - one CGC 9.8 high grade copy located here. Unslabbed high grade options as well.

Marvel Feature #1
  • First appearance of The Defenders
Should be no surprise that this bronze age key issue would be on a list of Doctor Strange key issues. After all, this so called "non-team" was led by none other than Doctor Strange himself and is the first superhero team the character was ever in.

The original incarnation was Doctor Strange, The Hulk and Namor the Submariner, and the Defenders line up has had a revolving membership of Marvel characters throughout the years, which would also include the Silver Surfer among many others that would join The Defenders.

mycomicshop - One CGC 8.0 VF copy. The rest are unslabbed, raw copies. Highest raw copy is a FN+ 6.5 for this key issue bronze age comic.

eBay - Two CGC 9.4 copies. No longer cheap anymore. Even 9.0s are pretty up there. A few unslabbed, raw copies to choose from if CGC ain't your thing.

ComicConnect - Two CGC copies. One's a 9.0 VF/NM, and the other is an 8.5 VF+.

Doctor Strange #6 Volume 2
  • First appearance of Mother Nature
This issue was actually on the Thor Key Issues list done a while back, and the first appearance of Mother Nature is actually Thor's real momma, Gaea. Still pretty much a sleeper key issue, but a Doctor Strange key comic nonetheless.

mycomicshop - Low grade unslabbed copies for sale. No CGC as of yet. Highest grade here is a VG.

eBay - Extremely limited in both raw copies and unslabbed copies. Quite surprising, actually.

That concludes this Doctor Strange key issues list. The movie is definitely in the works as Captain America The Winter Soldier does make reference to Stephen Strange in it, so some of these keys in this series is worth considering.

If you missed Part 3, you can click the PREVIOUS link to go see that. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for even more comic related goodness!

Doctor Strange Key Issues Part 3

Here's Part 3 to the Doctor Strange Key Issues list and we are almost near the end. Only one more part to this series to go after this one. Let's stop wasting time and get to it.

Strange Tales #150 comic cover
Strange Tales #150
  • First appearance of Umar
  • First John Buscema work at Marvel
Dormammu has a sister and her name Umar. This character resides in the Dark Dimension and has been a common foe of Doctor Strange since her first appearance in Strange Tales #150.

Umar is a powerful sorceress and a higher dimensional being of energy trapped in human form. Oh, yes, she is also the mother of Doctor Strange's wife, Clea. That would definitely make the holidays awkward at the Strange's Sanctum.

Strange Tales #150 is also an important key for another major reason. This reason being it's legendary comic artist John Buscema's first Marvel work in comics. This is definitely one of the Doctor Strange key issues to greatly consider snagging.

eBay - Another sleeper key issue. CGC 9.2 is under $130! For the first John Buscema Marvel work? Wow! CGC 8.0 located at the time of this writing for under $100? Unbelievable! Lots of unslabbed copies as well.

mycomicshop - CGC 9.2 and 8.0 copies available here. Lower grade unslabbed copies also.

ComicConnect - CGC 8.0 here. High grade unslabbed 9.0 up for auction. More unslabbed options.

NewKadia - More unslabbed goodness. Highest here is a low VF or 7.5 copy. Also a FN+ copy in stock as well.

Strange Tales #157
  • First appearance of Living Tribunal
Another all powerful and omnipotent character, the Living Tribunal is entity that oversees and maintains the balance in the realities of the Marvel Universe. That means the mainstream reality as well as all alternate realities. Of course, Doctor Strange is the first to meet this entity.

mycomicshop - Two unslabbed copies. Highest is a FN.

eBay - Lacking on the CGC for this issue but not surprising since it's not that well-known as of yet. Quite a few unslabbed copies to choose from. One CGC 7.5 Signature Series signed by Stan Lee.

NewKadia - Four unslabbed copies. Highest is a VF. Pretty affordable copies.

Strange Tales #168
  • Last Strange Tales issue
Looks like Nick Fury will soon get nudged off. This is the last issue to official carry the Strange Tales title. The next issue becomes the first issue that just features Doctor Strange as the titular character. Not much else to say about this Doctor Strange key comic except for that. Well, okay, it's a minor key issue, but still a silver age key issue comic to consider.

mycomicshop - PGX 8.5 and two unslabbed copies available to be snagged here.

eBay - CGC 8.0 VF copy for under a hundred. Also a PGX 8.5 at the same price. Quite a few high grade unslabbed copies if you believe they grade accurately.

NewKadia - Unslabbed VF copy here and a low VF.

Doctor Strange #169
  • Becomes first issue to Doctor Strange first titled series
It seems Doctor Strange was popular enough for those at Marvel Comics to believe that the Master of the Mystic Arts was due his own title. This issue is the first comic to be branded with the Doctor Strange title and takes up after Strange Tales #168.

Definitely no sleeper. This silver age key issue is of moderate demand. It will cost you quite a bit of ducats, but it is a Doctor Strange key issue worth considering adding to your vault.

mycomicshop - Four unslabbed copies. No CGC. Highest is a FN.

eBay - Not surprised that there are more CGC options for this key issue available. CGC 9.6 and 9.4 were spotted, as well as four or five 7.5s. One of the 7.5s is a Signature Series.

ComicLink - Two CGC 9.4s located here.

Dr. Strange #177
  • New Costume
As with most Marvel characters, it seems that a new look and new costume was in order for Doctor Strange. Pretty much a minor key issue.

mycomicshop - Only one VG/FN copy in stock.

eBay - One CGC 6.5, super cheap! Loads of unslabbed copies super cheap as well.

NewKadia - Few unslabbed copies. Highest is a 9.2 or low Near Mint.

Part 4 to this series is ready to go so just click the NEXT link to check out more Doctor Strange key comics, or if you missed Part 2, click the PREVIOUS link to head back.

Doctor Strange Key Issues Part 2

Rolling right along with Part 2 to this Doctor Strange Key Issues series. If you missed the previous part, you can click this Part 1 blue link to go back and read it. Otherwise, here's more Doctor Strange key comics to be on the hunt for.

Strange Tales #126 image
Strange Tales #126
First appearance of Clea
First appearance of Dormammu

A character that would become Doctor Strange's lover, Clea would be an important supporting character in the Doctor Strange comic world. Although this issue has the first appearance of Clea, it's more sought out because it also hold the first appearance of Dormammu.

No doubt that Dormammu is one of Doctor Strange's more popular foes in the comics, and there's little doubt that he will show up within one of the Doctor Strange flicks that Marvel plans to turn into a movie franchise.

This is a double whammy key issue and one of the more high demand Doctor Strange key comics, especially recently.

eBay - No problem finding low grade unslabbed copies here. One CGC 7.0 and a CGC 9.6 Signature Series double signed by Dick Ayers and Stan Lee.

mycomicshop - CGC 7.0 and two lower grade unslabbed copies all primed and ready to go. Not sure if the CGC 7.0 is the same copy up on eBay or not. If so, best to see what option is cheaper. There is a buyer's premium if bought at mycomicshop.

Strange Tales #127 picture
Strange Tales #127
First appearance of Cloak of Levitation (Red)
First appearance of Eye of Agamotto
First appearance of the Mindless Ones

Okay, here's where others get it completely wrong when dealing with the first appearance of the Eye of Agamotto. Some sources say that it's first seen in Strange Tales #110, but it was just referred to as an amulet. The earlier amulet Strange had is not the same amulet.

Here's what separates the old amulet from the actual Eye of Agamotto. In issue #127, Doctor Strange is rewarded with a new cloak and a new more powerful amulet. Though the amulet is not mentioned as the Eye of Agamotto, it is referred to as such in the next issue of Strange Tales.

It's this amulet given here that ends up being the Eye of Agamotto, so technically, isn't the first appearance of the Eye of Agamotto in Strange Tales #127? I would say so, but some sources say it's actually #128.

Doctor Strange gets a new cloak, the actual Cloak of Levitation, the famous red one, in this issue and we see the first appearance of the Mindless Ones

Can we say sleeper or not a well-known key issue silver age comic? Best time to snag them cheap.

eBay - Lacking on high grade for both unslabbed and slabbed comics as of this writing. CGC 8.0 Signature Series signed by Stan Lee for pretty cheap.

mycomicshop - Only one unslabbed GD copy for those who just want a copy. This could change by the time you check it out though, and there may be some better options for those who want an investment copy.

NewKadia - Two unslabbed copies in stock. Highest is a low FINE 5.5. Other is a GD+.

Strange Tales #128 pic
Strange Tales #128
First time new amulet is referred to as Eye of Agamotto
1st appearance of Demonicus

This is the issue that finally gives the amulet it's famous name that we all know of today. Some source this as the first appearance of the Eye of Agamotto, but I don't think that makes sense since it's given to Doctor Strange in issue #127.

However, like most mess ups with first appearances, I suppose someone will straighten it out by saying the first brief appearance of the Eye of Agamotto is Strange Tales #127, and the first full appearance is in this issue. Who knows?

Demonicus is a minor minion of Baron Mordo and later becomes his apprentice. He has very few appearances in actual comics. Then again, so does Kaelicius and he made it to the big screen.

eBay - CGC 9.2 for under $400! Not bad! A few CGC options. Limited on the high grade copies. No problem finding unslabbed copies here, of course.

mycomicshop - Unslabbed VG/FN copy available.

ComicConnect - More unslabbed options. Highest is a 9.0.

STRANGE TALES #130
1st appearance of Kaecilius
1st appearance of Sen-Yu

In the world of Doctor Strange comics, both Kaecilius and Sen-Yu are pretty minor characters and did not appear in the actual comics all that often. Kaelicius is the right-hand man of Baron Mordo and is his disciple in earlier comics.

Kaecilius is unnamed and in a green costume instead of his usual look and is indistinguishable in this comic. He would have a different appearance in the next issue #131 and is also unnamed in that issue as well.

In his 3rd appearance in Strange Tales #135, Kaecilius has yet a different outfit and is basically a flesh puppet of Mordo. The fool isn't actually named until Doctor Strange #56 volume 2.

Sen-Yu has very little appearances in comics so far and he just manages the Ancient One's wealth. He is depicted as a wizard in later comics.

This comic only recently saw heat and became in-demand when Mads Mikkelsen was confirmed as playing the character. We shall see how long this key issue stays hot, and March, 1965 is the cover date of Strange Tales #130.

Strange Tales #134 image
Strange Tales #134
Eternity first mentioned

An extremely well-known character within the cosmic Marvel comic titles, the cosmic entity known as Eternity is first mentioned in this issue. This character can manipulate the universe to achieve any result Eternity desires. Pretty hard-core.

eBay - CGC 8.0 for under $150! Wow, not a well-known key issue, which is good news for you. Not easy finding cheap silver age high grade key issues. Tons of unslabbed copies. Few CGC graded copies as of this writing.

mycomicshop - CGC 8.0 Pedigree from the White Mountain collection. Not sure if this is the same one on eBay or not, but it's $30 dollars cheaper. $3.60 buyer's premium. Two low grade raw copies also available.

ComicConnect - If you're looking for affordable unslabbed options, ComicConnect brings the goodness. Higest is an 8.0, though.

NewKadia - Four copies available. Highest is a low FINE 5.5. Second highest is VG+.

Strange Tales #138 comic image
Strange Tales #138
First appearance of Eternity

Here we are with the first appearance of Eternity in Strange Tales #138. Since, the character has been in numerous titles such as Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, and most other Marvel "Cosmic" titles. Yes, the first Marvel character to ever encounter Eternity was none other than Doctor Strange himself.

eBay - CGC 9.4 for under $200! That copy is a steal and cheaper than the CGC 9.2 up there at the time of this writing. Another CGC 9.4 for under $250. PGX 9.8 and a CGC 9.6. Lots of high grade options for this key issue. Quite a bit of unslabbed high grade options also. Nice selection for Strange Tales #138 on eBay.

mycomicshop - 4 unslabbed copies. Highest is a VG 4.0.

ComicConnect - Higher grade unslabbed options here. No CGC so far.

NewKadia - Four copies. Highest is a VF! Second highest is a mid-grade FINE copy.

STRANGE TALES #141
1st appearance of Adria

Another very minor Dr. Strange villain who has very few appearances in actual comics is Adria. She is a witch and a minion of Baron Mordo.

In her early appearances, she a long with Demonicus and Kaecilius seek revenge on Doctor Strange for banishing their master in another dimension. This is her first appearance, and like mentioned earlier, she doesn't appear all that much in comics.

Her next appearances after this one are Strange Tales #142 and #143 during the Silver Age. After that, she would reappear in an actual story in Doctor Strange #56 volume 2 a long with Demonicus and Kaecilius.

Strange Tales #141 has the cover date of February, 1966.

Strange Tales #148
Origin of the Ancient One
First appearance of Kaluu

In this Doctor Strange key issue we finally see the origin of the Ancient One. In his origin, we see the first appearance of Kaluu, a boy who grew up with the Ancient One and studied magic together. Much like Baron Mordo, Kaluu wanted to use the magic to serve his own ego. Of course, Kaluu becomes a foe of the Ancient One and warns Doctor Strange that he may soon face this threat.

eBay - Two CGC copies available so far. One's a gorgeous 9.6. The other is 7.5 Signature Series signed by Stan Lee. Quite a few unslabbed copies.

mycomicshop - Three unslabbed copies in stock. Highest is a FN and it just keeps getting lower from there. At least at the time of this writing. It could change by the time you check it out.

ComicConnect - CGC 9.2 copy and an unslabbed 9.4 in stock and ready to be added to your collection!
